BBNAIJA’S SEYI MAKES CONTROVERSIAL COMMENT

Seyi Awolowo, BBNaija’s All-Stars housemate, provoked criticism on social media over a controversial remark he made about his son.

In a conversation with White Money and Soma, Seyi said he will bankroll his sons and their friends to have sexual intercourse with pre-arranged girls.

Seyi said he had created a special bank account to service the sexual fantasies of his son and their friends.

Condemning the comment, the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) said, “Such remarks perpetuate harmful attitudes and contribute to a culture of violence and abuse”.

“We strongly condemn the comments made by Seyi Awolowo in the disturbing video that has surfaced. Such remarks perpetuate harmful attitudes and contribute to a culture of violence and abuse,” it added.

“The bystanders’ passive response in the video is also deeply concerning because it only enables such behavior to persist. It is important for us all to actively speak up in circumstances such as this.

NDLEA COLLABORATION WITH NAIRA MARLEY 

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) enlisted Naira Marley for its War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) advocacy campaign.

Last Thursday, the singer also paid Mohamed Burba Marwa, the NDLEA chairman, a courtesy visit to the agency’s headquarters, which attracted a wave of criticism on social media.

Reacting to the backlash, Femi Babafemi, the NDLEA spokesperson, said the agency engaged Naira Marley “to encourage him to use his skills and platforms to put out content that will discourage millions of his followers and Nigerian youths from substance abuse”.

Babafemi said the move was part of NDLEA’s “whole society approach to the fight against drug abuse”, clarifying that the agency did not make Naira Marley an ambassador as being touted on social media.

NKEM OWOH LOSES 24-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER

The family of Nkem Owoh, the Nigerian actor, announced the burial of their daughter.

Kosisochukwu, 24, was said to have died on June 28 after a brief illness.

The family disclosed that the funeral will take place in Amagu village, Enugu state, on August 24.

WIZKID LOSES MUM

Jane Dolapo Balogun, the mother of Wizkid, passed away.

Sunday Are, Wizkid’s longtime manager, confirmed that Jane died in the early hours of Friday.  

The cause of her death was, however, not disclosed.

CHINEDU IKEDIEZE OPENS UP ON ATTEMPTED SUICIDE AT AGE 9 

Chinedu Ikedieze, the Nollywood actor, said he once attempted suicide after a doctor told his mum about his stunted growth.

Ikedieze, fondly called Aki, said he discovered the condition when he was nine. 

Aki also said he cried many times before nursing the thought of “ending it all”. 

SOLIDSTAR’S FAMILY CRIES OUT OVER SINGER’S ‘MENTAL HEALTH CONDITION’

The family of Solidstar last week revealed that the singer “is sick and has been battling mental illness”.

His brother also pleaded with the public for help, saying they have tried to solve the issue internally but have been unsuccessful.

He said the family is asking for financial help to cover the cost of Solidstar’s medical care.

He added that the singer’s family is hoping that with the help of his fans, friends, and colleagues, Solidstar can get the treatment he needs and fully recover.

SAINT OBI LAID TO REST IN IMO

Saint Obi, the Nigerian actor, has been laid to rest in Imo.

Obi died in May 2023 at the age of 57.

The actor was finally buried on Friday at his family’s residence in Umuezealaeze, Alaenyi Ogwa, in Imo State.

BOBRISKY LOSES DAD

Idris Okuneye, the Nigerian socialite popularly known as Bobrisky, on August 15, laid her father to rest.

The Snapchat celebrity, who lost her father last Monday, could be seen in a viral video tossing sand on the ground where he was buried.

The burial ceremony took place in Ijebu Igbo, Ogun state.
