Asa, the Nigerian Jazz singer and songwriter, has enlisted Wizkid, the Grammy award winner, for ‘V’, her forthcoming album.
The ‘Fire on the Mountain’ crooner also announced via an Instagram post, the release date of the new album.
”My album ‘V’ (five) Out on February 25. Pre add and share,” she wrote.
The 39-year-old also unveiled the tracklist of the project scheduled for release on Friday.
ASA and Wizkid will be collaborating in the third track on the much-awaited album.
The project also features artists like The Cavemen, the Nigerian highlife duo, and Amaarae, the Ghanaian singer.
Songs on the body of work include ‘Nike’, ‘Show Me’, ‘IDG’, ‘Morning Man’, ‘Good Times’, ‘Believer’, ‘All I Ever Wanted’, ‘Love Me or Give Me Red Wine’, ‘Mayana’ and ‘Ocean’.
Asa had put out ‘Ocean’, one of the tracks on the album four days ago while ‘Mayana’ was released in December 2021.
The singer, whose real name is Bukola Elemide, came through with ‘Eyé Adaba’, her first single, in 2006.
She thereafter signed to Naive Records, a Paris-based independent record label.
Asa soon partnered with Cobhams Asuquo, Nigerian singer and record producer, who she had met through Janet Nwose, her manager.
After ‘Asa,’ her debut album, went platinum in 2008, she was voted the best fresh talent of 10 singers or groups by a jury of 19 music-industry specialists in Paris.
