Buju, the fast rising Nigerian singer, has come through with the visuals for ‘Outside’, his chart-topping song.
The track was released last month after the success recorded from collaborative songs like ‘Feeling’ with Ladipoe, and ‘Bling’ with Blaqbonez.
Buju, whose real name is Daniel Benson, took to his social media page to announce the release of the track’s music video on Thursday.
The visuals, which is directed by TG Omori, sees the singer in a confined psychiatric centre.
The music video infuses the energy of bizarre characters and queer settings to pass across Buju’s message.
“Talking bout me man, big up your chest| I swear If you no get money e dey kill idea| Well I face my fears, there’s nothing I can do from here| Omo, in the first stage I made mistakes| I swear, for knowledge I sacrifice my fears| And I stand right here| I say I’m better and you can’t compare,” he sings introspectively.
The emerging vocalist released his first track ‘Catch a Vibe’ in 2018, before he was signed to Spaceship records, a music label owned by Burna Boy, Grammy award-winner, in 2020.
The Afro-fusion singer boasts of an extended play titled ‘To Your Ears’, and has featured prominent artists like Zlatan, Burna Boy, JAE5, Blaqbonez, and Ladipoe.
