Yeni celebrated her 60th birthday on Sunday and the event was graced by prominent figures including the governor.

According to HipTV, Seun Kuti was infuriated by Sanwo-Olu’s presence at the event and walked out on him shortly after he arrived.

He was said to have been brought back into the venue by Femi Kuti, his elder brother, who was said to have calmed him down to prevent the issue from escalating.

A video showing Seun walking out of Afrika Shrine, where the event held, has also been trending online.

Reacting on Tuesday, Yeni said her brother had no disagreement with the governor.

She explained that the musician only got angry because a security official attached to the governor pushed Yetunde, his wife.

Yeni added that her brother’s anger was directed at the security detail, not the governor.

“What happened was that the security detail in the course of doing their duty pushed his wife. He got upset at them understandably so, not the Governor. He even explained to the governor. I beg o! He has home training. @RealSeunKuti,” she wrote.

Jubril Gawat, senior special assistant to Sanwo-Olu, also dismissed the claim by sharing a photo of the governor and the singer smiling while having a discussion at the event.
