Yomi Fabiyi, the Nollywood actor and filmmaker, has welcomed a baby boy with his wife.
The film star announced the baby’s arrival to his fans in a series of posts via his Instagram page on Thursday.
In one of the posts, the excited new dad thanked God as well as friends and family members for their support.
“To God be the glory, we just delivered a bouncing baby boy. I thank God almighty, doctors, my parents (both sides) and mummy Toyin Afolayan @lola_idije1959, friends, neighbours for every support all through. Dear Mum, I hope you are happy wherever you are now. You are a grandmother again,” he wrote.
He also shared a video clip of Tope Alabi, the gospel singer, praying for the new baby and his family via a telephone call.
Fabiyi was previously married to Fran, his British wife of nine years. The pair tied the knot in 2012 but the marriage suffered setback in 2016.
The marriage eventually fell apart last year when they were said to have finalised their divorce.
Fabiyi is known for his activism and controversial views on socio-political issues in the country.
Last year, he was in the news over his stance on the sexual assault case against Baba Ijesha, his embattled colleague.
