‘Joker and the Queen’ is a song off ‘Equals’, Ed Sheeran’s fifth studio album which was released in 2021.

The remix was released, alongside the visuals, in the early hours of Friday.

The song is a delicate piano ballad about rekindling lost love that follows the lives of two teenagers — a boy and girl — who share distinct physical features with the singers.

It serves as a fitting sequel to ‘Everything Has Changed,’ the duo’s first collaboration, which was dropped in 2013 and also starred the ginger-haired and blonde child actors as the grade school versions of the music superstars.

The 30-year-old British singer had spoken about the collaboration with Swift during a red carpet interview with Lad Bible on Tuesday.

The announcement had sent fans of both singers into overdrive in anticipation.

‘The Joker and the Queen’ marks their fourth collaboration.

Aside from ‘Everything Has Changed’, the longtime friends have also teamed up on two other songs for Taylor Swift’s albums, namely: ‘End Game on Reputation’ and ‘Run which is a vault track on Red.’

In December last year, Ed Sheeran combined with Fireboy DML for a new version of ‘Peru.’
