Simi Ogunleye, a Nigerian vocalist-cum-sound engineer, has put out the visuals to her recently released single ‘Duduke’, flaunting her heavy pregnancy alone at the beach.
The 32-year-old songster had previously released the project’s audio which concatenated beats and soulful sounds and sees her justify her obsession for a distant lover she claims to care so much about.
In the visuals, Simi can be seen playing piano in front of a beach’s shoreline while occasionally caressing her protruded belly in a yellow gown in what appears to be sunrise.
“First let me say to you, I can not wait to see you. You are the treasure I’ve been waiting for. Do you know how much I really need you, I dey wait for the day when I can finally kiss you,” she sings.
Over the years, she has pulled the weights of fame, making a name for herself as a versatile songstress whose music spans the R&B, Afropop, and soul genres.
Simi had started her career as a gospel singer, releasing ‘Ogaju’, her debut studio album, in 2008. She later gained prominence in 2014 after releasing ‘Tiff’, a song that made the 2015 Headies.
Thereafter, the vocalist had signed a record deal with X3M Music in 2014, although she later left the label in May 2019 following the expiration of her contract.
After releasing her second studio album in 2017, ‘Omo Charlie Champagne’, her third body of work, followed. She would later launch her own record label Studio Brat in 2019.
