H.E.R., the US singer, thrilled the audience with a solo performance of ‘Lonely at the Top’ and ‘Smile’ at the ‘Hey Neighbour’ festival in South Africa.
‘Lonely At The Top’ is a hit song by Asake, the Nigerian singer. Last month, Asake enlisted H.E.R. for the song’s remix.
‘Smile’, on the other hand, is a collaborative single released in 2020 by Wizkid, the Afrobeats singer.
The Grammy-winning singer marked her inaugural performance in Africa at the festival last weekend.

“The Grammy-winning artist took centre stage to deliver solo renditions of Afrobeat hits – Asake’s “Lonely at the Top” and Wizkid’s “Smile,” reads a statement released on Monday.
“Her choice to spotlight these Afrobeat tracks during her first-ever performance in Africa underscored the global acceptance and influence of this vibrant musical genre.

Other entertainers who performed at the festival include Rema, CKay, Nasty C, Focalistic, Musa Keys, Sauti Sol, and Khalid.
H.E.R. is an American R&B singer and songwriter. Born Gabriella Wilson, she has received an Academy Award, a Children’s and Family Emmy Award, and five Grammy Awards.
