The movie star was reflecting on the seeming divisions in the contemporary African society over religious affiliations in an Instagram post on Tuesday.

Ugeze said it was unfortunate that Africans have not been able to understand the rationale behind the introduction of western religion to the continent.

The movie director also noted that years after “western invaders” brought their religion to Africa, they are still “hiding important things from us.”

He said instead of raising critical questions, Africans have continued to hate themselves on the basis of religion introduced to them by the whites.

“If religion is something good, something that will ultimately better the lives of any people, the western invaders would not have brought it to us. Up till today, they are still hiding important things from us. But our people will never learn…And our brethren are still hating brethren because of it,” he wrote.
