‘Fire and Fury’, a book about US President Donald Trump, is set to be produced as a television series.
Michael Wolff, the book’s author, wrote that Trump’s advisers address him with words such as “moron, idiot, and dope”.
Wolff listed the advisers as Steven Mnuchin, treasury secretary; Reince Priebus, former chief of staff; Gary Cohn, chief economic adviser; HR McMaster, national security adviser.
The author has reportedly sold television rights for the book for seven figures.
Wolff will also co-produce the project with Michael Jackson, former BBC and Channel 4 executive.
Released on January 10, the book has sold over one million copies.
‘Fire and Fury’ claims that Rex Tillerson, the US secretary of state, called Trump a moron.
Steve Bannon, former chief strategist, was quoted to have said Ivanka, Trump’s daughter, was “dumb as a brick”.
An excerpt from the book read: “Trump, in fact, found the White House to be vexing and even a little scary. He retreated to his own bedroom—the first time since the Kennedy White House that a presidential couple had maintained separate rooms.
“He reprimanded the housekeeping staff for picking up his shirt from the floor: ‘If my shirt is on the floor, it’s because I want it on the floor’.
“Then he imposed a set of new rules: Nobody touch anything, especially not his toothbrush. (He had a longtime fear of being poisoned, one reason why he liked to eat at McDonald’s — nobody knew he was coming and the food was safely premade.)”
The White House has said the book is filled with “false and misleading accounts from individuals who have no access or influence with the White House”.
