The singer took to his Instagram page on the same day to share a series of videos showing him performing romance-oriented songs.

For the last in the series, Dakolo shared yet another video in the caption of which he wrote, “wedding number 8.”

Each of the videos he shared was numbered and featured a massive audience cheering as he was walked into sight.

Dakolo started singing in church at the age of twelve. He later joined the group Purple Love as a founding member in 2003. They dominated a Port Harcourt club but disbanded in 2005 as its members sought university education.

The singer went on to win the inaugural season of Idols West Africa in 2007 after which he dominated his game.

During an interview with TheCable Lifestyle in June, Dakolo had said many music lovers still give preference to physical shows, despite the showbusiness realities that have trailed the COVID-19 pandemic across the world.

“We’re in a digital age; we have an internet community where you don’t have to be present somewhere to have an effect on a thing. That’s why there’s streaming, video calls, and everything aiding the creative space,” Dakolo said.

“I think the COVID-19 scenario has given us, as artistes, a lot of things to think about. It has caused us to rethink a lot of things. Physical presence isn’t necessarily more effective but people still like live concerts, shows, and all that.

“One way or the other, it will improve the way creative work is appreciated. As much as it affected what we do, it also opened a door for what could be; how it could be done, not what’s being done.

“I think artistes will now need an increased presence on streaming and social media platforms. And we have to do a lot of rethink. And financially, it’s not like it used to be. But a lot of us actually put some mechanisms in place.”
