Precious Osemwonta, a housemate in the ongoing third edition of Teachers Naija, has been evicted from the Nigerian reality TV show.
Osemwonta was sent packing during the first live eviction show on Thursday.
The eviction has now reduced the number of housemates on the show to 18.
Nine housemates were also placed on probation owing to the outcome of their votes and tasks.
The housemates on probation include Shabi Adebisi, Wua Isaac, Bitrus Simon, Gbelimu Lawal, Mbadugha Dorcas, Opara Ifeanyichukwu, Apotieri Ayansola, and Michael Gbadebo.
This year’s edition of the reality TV show kicked off last Saturday with 19 housemates vying for over N20 million worth of prizes.
Teachers Naija, an initiative of Anub Media Limited, had its first season in 2019 where the winner, first and second runners-up went home with N1.5 million, N1 million, and N500,000 respectively.
In its second edition in 2021, the show’s winner was awarded a 2-bedroom flat in Abuja and the sum of N2 million cash prize while the first and the second runners-up got N1.5 million and N1 million respectively.
With this year’s edition themed ‘The Smart Teacher’, Enuagwuna Ubaka, the show’s convener, said the housemates who were selected randomly across the country were prioritised based on their intellectual capabilities.
