Anthony Offiah, the fast-rising Afrobeats singer popularly known as King Perryy, is on a singular mission; to make it to the topmost level attainable in the Nigerian music industry.
The Rivers-born songwriter started to amass attention after releasing songs like ‘My Darlina'(2020), ‘Big Man Cruise’, and ‘Let Me Love You,’ among others.
He has also collaborated with big names like Erigga, Tekno, and Timaya, among others.
In February, Perryy came through with his 2023 extended play (EP) titled ‘Continental Playlist‘.
The 7-track body of work housed songs like ‘On God’, ‘Turkey Nla remix’, ‘Tight Condition’, ‘Oh No’, ‘Flamingo’ with Ria Sean, ‘No Stress’, and ‘Denge’.
The 18-minute project is a fusion of smooth vocals, melodies, and contemporary Afrobeat rhythms that will compel listeners to move their bodies and groove.
Since the EP release, ‘Continental Playlist’ has continued to rake in millions of streams across global music platforms.
Recently, ‘Tight Condition’ surpassed one million listens on Spotify.
As of Wednesday, the track has garnered 1,139,962 listens on the streaming platform.
The Victony-assisted hit was released in collaboration with MusicSplit on ArtSplit.
“The whole process of releasing the Continental EP has been therapeutic for me, as has my decision to become independent and take ownership of my career,” Perryy said while speaking on the feat.
“I’ve resolved to totally embrace my imagination and gamble on myself.
“And I am grateful that I can continue to completely discover myself and even allow my admirers to share in my achievement.”
‘Tight Condition’ isn’t King Perryy’s first song to enter Spotify’s million streams club. Rather, it comes after an incredible run of stellar hits, including the 2018 Timaya-assisted single ‘Man On Duty,’ which amassed more than 2.9 million plays on Spotify alone.
It’s worth noting that King Perryy’s recent EP is among the first to be part of the MusicSplit on the ARTSPLIT platform for fans to invest in and profit from streaming royalties, thanks to the collaboration between ARTSPLIT, MAD Solutions, and ENGAGE Partnership.
Artsplit also provides a social media timeline where budding creatives may share their work for exposure and support.
