Bovi has taunted AY Makun in a viral but old photo of him and Basketmouth together.
The trio are among the most popular stand-up comedians in Nigeria.
However, AY and Basketmouth have been in the news for years over their lingering feud.
In a recent interview, AY said their years-long rift started over money he is yet to receive for a show he anchored for Basketmouth.
Responding to AY, Basketmouth described his colleague’s account of the incident as “lies”.
He added that they were never friends and don’t have a picture together.
Following the release of the podcast episode where Basketmouth shared his side of the story on their nearly two decades rift, an old picture of the two comedians surfaced online.
The viral photo triggered a wave of mixed reactions among social media users.
Joining the fray, Bovi, who revealed the photo was taken in 2004, joked about AY being a “fan” of Basketmouth.
He also taunted AY, pleading that he doesn’t report the matter to Chude Jideonwo, the TV personality.
“This is Basketmouth and a fan!😎 2004! 😀😀😀 AY no vex o! Before you go call Chude for me!” Bovi wrote on his Instastory.
In 2021, Bovi opened up about the reason behind his strained relationship with AY.
He said their contrasting styles led to them growing apart.
Bovi, however, made it clear that they are still on good terms.
“I think we just grew apart. I like to do my own thing my own way and if your style is different from my style we just grow apart basically but we cool. When I see him I say what’s up,” he said.
In a recent interview, he also admitted that he and Basketmouth aren’t as close as they used to be.
Bovi started his career as a stand-up comedian nearly two decades ago.
