On Monday, multiple news platforms referred to Trevboi as an “ex-signee of Davido” while breaking the story.

The artiste, according to Benjamin Hundeyin, the police spokesperson, is under investigation for allegedly killing the man at a nightclub in Fadeyi, Lagos.

But in a chat with TheCable Lifestyle, a close associate of Davido disclosed that Trevboi was never a part of DMW.

The source clarified that Trevboi merely featured Davido on a song in 2020, and they subsequently went their separate ways.

“Trevboi was never signed to DMW. He only featured Davido on a song, and that’s all. Davido cut ties with him following that,” the source said.

DMW (Davido Music Worldwide) is a Nigerian record label founded by the Afrobeats singer in 2016.

The music label’s roster also includes Speroach and Fresh VDM, the producers, and DJ ECool as a disk jockey.

Artistes affiliated and formerly signed to the label, include Ichaba, Lola Rae, Lil Frosh, and Mayorkun.

In March, Davido announced the signing of Morravey and Logos Olori to his record label.
