Sir Jarus, entrepreneur and internet influencer, says the court has dismissed the domestic violence case against him.

Earlier, Sir Jarus was charged with two counts of domestic violence at the Ogba Magistrate Court in Lagos.

The first count borders on “assault against his wife” while the second is for “conduct likely to cause a breach of peace”.

In a social media post on Thursday, Jarus said the court has now struck out the assault case and asked him to go for counselling.

The entrepreneur said the court encouraged him to use his platform to advocate against domestic violence.

He added that he would be off the micro-blogging site X, formerly known as Twitter, in compliance with the conditions of the court.

“The matter was struck out by the court with conditions that I go for counselling, use my platform to speak against domestic violence, and stay off Twitter for a month,” he wrote.

“In compliance, I want to appeal to married people to seek peaceful means of seeking marital disputes.

“I will be logging off Twitter for one month. I will also appreciate it if nobody sends me anything from Twitter.”

Sir Jarus was recently the subject of discourse on X when he shared a series of now-deleted posts.

In the posts, he accused Oyewale Ayoola, his wife, of engaging in “fetish practices” and “provocative behaviour”.

The entrepreneur said Ayoola’s practices led to a “physical altercation” between them both.

But the Lagos Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) waded into the matter on June 28.

This led to the arrest of Sir Jarus at a time when reports claimed he had filed a suit to dissolve his 13-year marriage.
