Boomplay, one of Nigeria’s leading music streaming platforms, announced this across its social media handles on Saturday.

Describing this as a landmark achievement, it attributed Simi’s new numbers to her fifth solo project ‘To Be Honest (TBH)’.

Simi’s numbers put her among such acts as Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Fireboy DML, Omah Lay, and Joeboy who had previously hit the 100 million mark on the streamer.

Tosin Sorinola, its director of artiste and media relations, said the platform is marking Simi’s new achievement as part of its commitment to ensure inclusion and representation in music.

“As an organisation, we will continue to recognise and celebrate the strides made by female artists globally,” the executive said.

Simi had earlier set record as the first African female artiste to reach 100 million streams on Audiomack.

Simi served as a judge in the 7th season of Nigerian idol, 2022.
