Shadrach Adeboye Folarin, a singer popularly known as Shaydee, has dropped a subtle hint of his exit from E.M.E, a record label owned by Banky W.
Shaydee made the disclosure in his Instagram birthday shout-out to the singer/actor on Monday.
“Happy birthday Bankssss @bankywellington. May Gods great favour and grace be with you,” he wrote.
“Thanks for all I’ve learnt from you and thanks for the opportunity you gave me to find my path in life as I continue on this incredible journey on my own. May God reward you accordingly a thousand fold. Amen #BigbroStill #RidingSolo.”
The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) graduate of electrical engineering has also removed E.M.E from his Instagram bio.
Shaydee got signed to Empire Mates Entertainment in 2012 and has not released any studio album since then.
In 2015, five years after he signed his first recording contract, Shaydee was listed among NotJustOk’s ’15 artistes to watch’.
In 2016, the singer announced that he would release his debut album in July, only to later apologise for being unable to meet the set date.
“I apologise to the fans for the delay. We are just trying to do it properly but you won’t wait too long. There would be an announcement in a couple of days hopefully.”
In an interview with TheCable Lifestyle, Shaydee said he would never make songs that does not make sense.
“First of all, R&B or any genre of music can be of massive commercial value if promoted right. People like Asa, Timi Dakolo, e.t.c have proven that with time. I just would never make songs that don’t make sense. Even if it’s a dance track, there is a story to it, so don’t misquote or misunderstand me.”
The 29-year-old said he was willing to work hard till he gets what he deserves from the industry.
“In life you don’t always get what you want or deserve every time but one just has to keep working hard and be consistent. Time has the answers to everything in life.”
Representatives of Shaydee have refused to confirm or debunk whether he has left Banky W’s record label.
