Farida Fasasi, wife of Sound Sultan, the late Nigerian singer, says the social media accounts of her husband have been hacked.

The rapper breathed his last on July 11 after a 4-year battle with angioimmunoblastic t-cell lymphoma — a type of blood cancer that starts in the white blood cells.

In an Instagram post on Saturday, Farida called on people to disregard any message from her husband’s handles, adding that the family currently has no control over them.

According to her, hackers have taken over the accounts to solicit funds and scam unsuspecting members of the public.

Farida said the public would be notified when the accounts have been restored from the hackers.

“Hello everyone, kindly disregard any communication from all @soundsultan’s social media accounts. The accounts have been hacked by scammers sending messages to innocent people to solicit funds,” she wrote.

“Please the family has no control over the accounts. Let’sbe watchful. Cybercrime is at an all time high. Thank you so much for your support all the way. You would be informed when we have control over the accounts.”

Farida had recently penned a touching tribute to the late musician while recounting her ordeals since he passed on.

⁣“It still feels like a bad dream… How is this my fate? Living without you has to be the worst punishment life has thrown my way,” she had written.⁣
