Sabinus, the Nigerian skit maker, and Ciana Chapman, his wife, have addressed rumours of domestic violence in their marriage.
On Thursday, a blogger on Instagram alleged that the comedian was physically assaulting his wife.
“But why does Sabinus like beating his wife though,” the post reads.
“Men! Just when you think one is better, they disappoint you.”
Reacting in the comment section of the post, Sabinus dismissed the claim.
“How can I lay my hands on a woman that stays in UK? Omo una really funny for this country,” he said.
“She has been in the UK for two years now. Omo na wa o.”
Ciana, on the other hand, took to her Instagram stories to warn the blogger to desist from spreading such rumours.
The mother of one said it is impossible for Sabinus, who lives in Nigeria, to physically abuse her while she is in another country.
“Take my name and that of my family off your mouth and page,” she wrote.
“How can my husband be in Nigeria and be hitting me here in the UK?”
Sabinus, born Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, and his wife welcomed their first child in April.
The skit maker’s popularity has earned him notable awards and recognition.
At the 2022 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA), he was named ‘Best Online Content Creator’.
