Maro Itoje, the Nigerian-British rugby player, has tied the knot with his model wife Mimi in a lavish traditional wedding.
The ceremony took place on Friday at the Devere Grand Connaught Rooms in London, the United Kingdom, and was attended by family, friends, and some of the athlete’s teammates.
Itoje, who is of Urhobo heritage, shared photos of himself and his wife dressed in vibrant traditional attire via Instagram.
“Urhobo culture to the world. In case you haven’t realized, we had our traditional Nigerian wedding last weekend. A time was had,” he wrote.

Some of Itoje’s Saracens FC England and Lions teammates also turned up in Nigerian attire to celebrate with the couple.
Among those in attendance were Alex Lozowski, Elliot Daly, Ollie Lawrence, Nick Isiekwe, Marcus Smith, Ben Earl, and Andy Onyeama-Christie.
The traditional ceremony comes three months after the couple’s white wedding in May.
At the time, the 30-year-old athlete had taken to Instagram to announce the union with a Biblical reflection.
“Scripture says it’s not good for man to be alone. I am no longer alone. I have a wife. To God be the glory,” he wrote.
Itoje was born in North London to Nigerian parents. He currently plays as a lock for Premiership Rugby club Saracens and captains both the England national team and the British & Irish Lions.
Mimi, on the other hand, is a model and artist.
