Ned Nwoko, the husband of actress Regina Daniels, has denied rumours that he fathered a child with another film star Chika Ike.
The rumours, which circulated on social media, also claimed that Nwoko and Ike would be getting married soon.
The speculations gained traction after Ike announced that she was expecting her first child, but did not reveal the father’s identity.
The rumours sparked speculation about a potential crisis in Nwoko’s marriage to Daniels.
However, Nwoko’s director of communications released a statement on his social media pages, dismissing the rumours as “malicious speculation”.
The politician stated that he was currently focused on a national assignment and had no time for distractions.
Nwoko added that his office was open to the media for verification of information, warning that spreading fake news had consequences.
“Our attention has been drawn to the recent false rumors alleging that Senator Prince Ned Munir Nwoko is planning to marry Nollywood actress Chika Ike as his seventh wife and that she is pregnant for him,” the statement reads.
“We categorically state that these claims are entirely baseless and a product of malicious speculation. Similarly, reports claiming he made statements about Tuface and polygamy are completely untrue.
“As a public figure and with his wife also being an actress, it is not unusual for bloggers seeking attention to fabricate such stories. However, Senator Nwoko is currently on a national assignment, focused on delivering on his political mandate, and has no time for distractions.
“This office remains available to journalists for verification of information, and we remind media practitioners of the consequences of spreading fake news. The public is advised to disregard these rumors and rely only on official statements from his office.”

Daniels has deactivated her Instagram account, although the reason for this is unclear.
This is not the first time Ike and Nwoko have been rumoured to be in a relationship.
In 2020, a viral video insinuated that the actress had been in a relationship with the politician before he married Daniels.
Ike had denied the rumors at the time, stating that she would never be anyone’s seventh wife.
