Davido has set the Nigerian Twittersphere abuzz after he asked his fans for money to facilitate the “clearance of my Rolls Royce” at the ports.
The award-winning singer had on Wednesday taken to his official Twitter page to put out a flurry of tweets wherein he pleaded with his followers to send him money.
“If u know I’ve given you a hit song .. send me money …. una know una selves oo,” he wrote.
Sharing account numbers to which the payments should be made, Davido said he was able to pull up to N26 million in a few minutes.
With a target of N100 million set for the supposed clearance of his Rolls Royce, the singer amassed over N85 million in four hours.
The development has continued to spark a plethora of reactions on social media as users wonder how the ‘OBO’ crooner was able to pull such an “unprecedented feat” in hours.
While a number of fans hailed Davido others put out hilarious comments claiming that he was pulling a social experiment.

“Davido is telling his friends to send 1M and they’re sending it immediately. If I tell my friends to send me urgent 2k, they’ll send me 30 min voice note. Mtcheew,” another user said.

Davido has never asked for anything in return, so it’s a no brainer that the whole industry is gladly sending him money.
