Ali Baba, Segun Arinze, and Chinedu Ikedieze are among the entertainers who attended a night of tributes for the late Sammie Okposo.

A night of tributes was held for the late gospel singer on Tuesday at La Madison Place, Oniru in Lagos.

The event featured performances by gospel singers like Tope Alabi, Mike Abdul, and Efe Nathan.

Among others who performed on the night of tributes are the singer Timi Dakolo and comedian Akpororo.

Entertainers at the event took turns sharing happy moments they had with Okposo.

In one footage from the event, Ozioma, Okposo’s wife, is seen crying while some people tried to console her.

Okposo passed away on November 25, with associates revealing much later that he died in his sleep.

The singer will be buried at a private ceremony on December 16.

After coming to the limelight for his music, Sammie Okposo established himself as an international gospel artiste.

He was also a music producer, psalmist, and CEO of Zamar Entertainment.

The singer released his first album ‘Addicted’ in 2004. He collaborated with many other artistes in the gospel and soul genres.

Okposo’s most recent album ‘The Statement’ (2018) was produced by the Grammy-winning Kevin Bond.

On Okposo’s passing, his family said: “We are consoled because we know that he is with Jesus singing with angels.

“We kindly request that the family is allowed to grieve peacefully at this time.”
