Born Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, Mohbad died under mysterious circumstances on September 12 and was buried the following day.

On September 21, the former Marlian Record artiste’s body was exhumed by police for an autopsy.

Eight months later, the autopsy failed to determine the cause of death as the singer’s body had decomposed when tests were conducted.

In a recent episode of the ‘Is This Seat Taken’ podcast, Madi disclosed that Mohbad’s death affected “so much in my thinking” despite not meeting him while he was alive.

The fast-rising singer said after his death she unconsciously started writing in a “dark way”.

The singer added that ‘Journey‘ was not released for commercial purposes but as a tribute song that conveyed her feelings about Mohbad’s demise.

“I actually wrote journey because of the late diamond, Mohbad. So I wrote it because of him and at the time, I had not gotten the time to meet him or be in the same room with him, I had only heard his music,” she said.

“So at the time of his death news, it affected so much in my thinking. I am like I have never written a song like this because usually moments around me affect the way I write.

“I go to the studio with the person I made ‘Ole’ and ‘Vision’ with and I am like what are we doing? So he noticed that I started writing in a dark way. So he said I got you, started playing the guitar then I started writing.

“After writing ‘Journey’, I said I was going to put it out as content, I didn’t want to put it out as a song. That is why I made a whole viral video because I’m like that is all is going to be.

“I do not want people to stream this, I just wanted them to know how I feel about everything that is going on.”
