Police in Barcelona, Spain have arrested a man who allegedly attempted to steal a box of jewellery belonging to BNXN, the Nigerian singer.

The singer was in Spain for a music engagement when the incident occurred.

On Monday, Adesope Olajide, the UK-based Nigerian media personality, shared a video of a white man who was apprehended for allegedly trying to steal BNXN’s jewellery box.

The singer’s security team was said to have spotted the man trying to sneak away with the box. They then pounced on the man after which he was handed over to the police.

“Crazy guy. Take him inside,” a voice is heard saying in the video.

Adesope, who shared another video with BNXN, also emphasised the importance of security officials and management teams around celebrities.

Last week, BNXN, while celebrating his 27th birthday, shared a photo of the customised box on his Instagram page.

Born Daniel Benson, BNXN has continued to enjoy fame since establishing himself in the Nigerian music landscape.

In 2021, the songwriter released his first extended play titled ‘Sorry I’m Late’. He unveiled another EP the following year titled Bad Since ’97.

BNXN has also received several awards and recognitions for his craft.

In 2022, the singer won the ‘Next Rated’ award at the 15th edition of The Headies.

Last month, he teamed up with Ruger, another Nigerian singer, to put out a joint EP titled ‘RnB’.
