The governor received the law graduate and her parents at the Lagos state government house in Marina on Thursday.

In June, Yusuf became the first LASU undergraduate to get a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 5.0 in 40 years.

The law graduate has become a viral sensation since she achieved the feat, with many Nigerians celebrating her heroics.

Sanwo-Olu earlier gave her the sum of N10 million at the 26th convocation and 40th anniversary of the institution.

Yusuf had also narrated how she braced the odds to achieve the feat.

The student said she was motivated to pursue a perfect CGPA as an undergraduate after getting a 4.98 CGPA during her direct entry (DE) programme at LASU.

“While I struggled financially through my education, I don’t desire such hardship for students coming behind us, especially the female students,” she had said.

“I studied really hard and prayed so fervently towards achieving excellence; I graduated from the programme (direct entry) with a CGPA of 4.98 and this was the best in my set.

“The possibility of graduating with such grade motivated the yearning to graduate with a perfect CGPA at the undergraduate level.”
