Peter ‘Mr P’ Okoye, a seasoned performer in the Nigerian music scene, will play a role in the upcoming film ‘Shanty Town,’ directed by Dimeji Ajibola.

A star-studded cast awaits viewers in the six-part Netflix series set to debut on January 20, 2023.

The film also stars Ini Edo, Uche Jombo, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Ali Nuhu, Lilian Afegbai, and Regina Daniel.

Others are Shaffy Bello, Sola Sobowale, Toyin Abraham, Zubby Michael, and Chidi Mokeme.

Ice Prince and Soso Soberekon, two prominent music heavyweights, will be responsible for the soundtrack’s production.

In the story told by Shanty Town, a group of courtesans (prostitutes) wants to break free from the control of an infamous kingpin, but they soon realize that doing so will be extremely difficult because of political corruption and blood ties.

The production’s star-studded filming began in May 2021. Ajibola released a preview clip in October 2021, giving viewers their first glance at the cast:

In July 2022, Netflix purchased the movie and added it to its library.
