The basketball association, in a Twitter post on Wednesday, announced that the three Nigerian singers will thrill fans with an “Afrobeats-themed performance” on February 19.

NBA also said after the half-time performance by the trio, the league will also honour LeBron James for breaking the scoring record two weeks ago.

“GRAMMY® Award-winning singer, songwriter and record producer @burnaboy, 2023 GRAMMY Award-winning singer and Oscar-nominated singer and producer @temsbaby, and rapper and singer @heisrema will headline the NBA All-Star Game 2023 halftime show with an Afrobeats-themed performance,” the tweet reads.

“After the performance, the NBA family will honor LeBron James for becoming the league’s all-time scoring leader.

“The 72nd NBA All-Star Game will tip off at 8:30 p.m. ET at Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City and air on TNT.”

The three music heavyweights have continued to make Nigeria proud since they hit the spotlight.

Tems won her first-ever Grammy award in 2023 for her role in ‘Wait for U’, the 2022 hit song by Future featuring Drake.

Burna Boy — despite losing out on two Grammy nominations this year — set a record in 2021 by becoming the first Afrobeat singer to clinch the global award.

A few weeks ago, Rema’s ‘Calm Down’ became the most-viewed Nigerian music video on YouTube with 355 million views.
