Pete Edochie, the father of Yul Edochie, has addressed his son’s controversial second marriage.
The veteran actor says his son didn’t inform him before marrying a second wife.
In a recent chat with Chude Jideonwo, the media personality, Pete said that he doesn’t interfere in Yul’s personal matters and was surprised to hear about the new marriage.
He said that his love for May Edochie, Yul’s first wife, is profound because he was close to her father.
Pete also credited the success of Yul’s home to May.
“Yul is 41. I really don’t interfere in his affairs. No! Suddenly we heard he picked up a second wife,” he said.
“We just heard it and that’s it. Mary is not just a daughter-in-law.
I don’t want to say that I love Mary more than the other wives of my sons, but the Love I have for Mary is so strong.
“Why? The father and I were very close. Mary is a girl I love to the marrow. She is a wonderful person. Mary is a very brilliant girl, and to a large extent the success of that home is to Mary’s credit.”
Pete mentioned that some people have been advising May to break her relationship with Yul.
He added that those advising her don’t have good homes.
“A lot of people have been advising her wrongly, trying to see if they can sunder the link between herself and her husband. Most of the people advising her that way don’t have good homes,” the veteran actor said.
In April 2022, Yul Edochie unveiled Judy Austin, an actress, as his second wife.
He also announced their first child together, to the displeasure of May.
May recently filed for divorce from Yul Edochie and demanded N100 million in damages.
