In the post dated December 30, Amedu said interested ladies should send in their applications.

He gave a deadline of less than 48 hours.

Amedu explained that he was keen to get married.

“Am of age to and I am ready to say I do and am wasting no time,” he wrote.

“Send in your applications – the most qualified will be married on January 6, 2018. Application closes 12 midnight, 31/12/2017.

“Am serious about this oh and don’t say you did not see it on time. Good luck.”

Sequel to this, Sophy Ijeoma replied Amedu’s post saying, “Am serious about this oh and don’t say you did not see it on time. Good luck”.

Ijeoma’s response caught his attention and he subsequently reached out to her.

The pair had a conversation via Facebook call, after which he left Abuja to visit her in Enugu where she resides.

Amedu had been engaged to another woman but their relationship had hit the rocks, hence their wedding was cancelled.

“I had the desire to get married, I had a date in mind, but no bride, so I decided to place an advert as a joke, but I was open and up for it,” he told BBC.

Amedu and Ijeoma had been friends on Facebook for over a year, but had never met nor spoken to each other until the advert.

They had their traditional wedding on January 6, with the church affair expected to hold in April.
