Wendy Asiamah Adoo, Ghanaian Afrobeats singer better known as Wendy Shay, has revealed that her best friend snatched her partner while she was chasing her passion.

The Afropop star was sharing her story of betrayal with her followers in a Twitter post.

Shay said it is now difficult for “hardworking women” to find men who will love them genuinely.

The songstress also recalled how her “so-called best friend” snatched her partner when she was “on the road chasing my passion”.

The singer, who made a song about her experience, disclosed that her supposed best friend and boyfriend are still in a relationship.

“It’s hard for hardworking women to get genuine love. While I was on the road chasing my passion my so-called best friend was also chasing my man and now they are together. So ShayGang excuse me for my language, this song is very personal,” she wrote.

The 26-year-old music star has continued to receive massive reception from music lovers since the release of her debut single ‘Uber Driver’ in 2018.

In 2018, Shay won the Best New Artiste of the Year at the Ghana-Naija Showbiz Awards.

She also won the New Artiste of the Year category at the 2018 Ghana Music Awards SA.

She was among the top 30 most influential women in music, according to a list by the 3Music Awards Women’s Brunch in 2021.
