MTV Base has released its list of ‘Ones to Watch for 2017’, a selection of artistes tipped to be successful in 2017.
55 established and upcoming artistes were included in the list compiled by the MTV Base’s music and talent experts from across the continent.
The list is based on the channel’s assessment of the artistes’ current and future potential, including sales performance, active release schedule, popularity/buzz, radio and video airplay, style, and other factors.
“Ones to Watch is our annual curated list of artistes who we anticipate great things for in the coming year. It’s awesome to see how far the artists on 2016’s list have come and how much the support we provide has helped these artistes build their careers both locally and across the continent,” said Monde Twala, vice president, BET, youth & music, VIMN Africa.
