Primeboy, a childhood friend of Mohbad, has claimed Omowunmi, the partner of the late singer, is trying to frame him for his death.
Mohbad died on September 12 and was buried the next day.
Primeboy is a person of interest in the singer’s death.
There were insinuations on social media that Mohbad and Primeboy had a rift before his demise — although the singer’s friend denied the rumours.
Primeboy was declared wanted on Wednesday after he failed to comply with the invitation regarding an investigation into Mohbad’s death.
The police had also offered a reward of N1 million to anyone with useful information that would lead to his arrest.
He later surrendered himself to the Lagos police and was taken into custody for interrogation on Thursday.
In an interview with TVC, before he turned himself in, Primeboy narrated his encounter with Mohbad a few days before the singer died.
He claimed that the police “lied” about inviting him, adding that “I was everything to Mohbad” before he became famous.
Primeboy denied allegations of an altercation with the late singer. He said Mohbad “chased me down from the car” because of a heated conversation with his wife.
He insisted that he was not with Mohbad on the day he died, alleging that Omowunmi was “trying to frame me online”.
“How will I receive a message from the police and I will refuse them? Mohbad is my childhood friend. All those times that his stepmother did not care, I was his stepmother, I was his dad and I was his friend,” he said.
“I was everything to him because he lived with me then. My mum fed the two of us together.
“I was not with him when he died. We departed after that show because he chased me down from the car. That was on Sunday.
“He called me on Friday to come over to the Island, I did not even know he had a show. When I got to the Island, we were talking and having fun, then he told me he had a show in Ikorodu.
“He chased me out at Town Hall because he and his wife were having a conversation about their family affairs.
“The issue he and his wife had, Mohbad is fu*cking hot. He said he wanted to get out of the car and I told him to calm down.
“People don’t even know how I feel losing him and now they are accusing me. I just know that God sees it all. I want justice for Mohbad and why would his wife go online and start framing me? That is wrong.”
Thousands of Nigerians have demanded justice for Mohbad in nationwide protests.
On September 21, the police exhumed Mohbad’s corpse for autopsy and are awaiting the results.
The Lagos police took Naira Marley in its custody for interrogation on Tuesday while Sam Larry was detained on September 29.
The pair, who are also suspects in the case, were remanded in police custody for 21 days by a Lagos court.
