Mercy Chinwo, the Nigerian gospel singer, and Blessed Uzochikwa, her husband, have welcomed their first child together.
In an Instagram post on Friday, the singer unveiled her bump in a music video featuring her husband.
In an accompanying caption, the excited mother expressed gratitude to God for their new addition.
“Lord, we are grateful; we approach Your throne with heartfelt songs of praise and thanksgiving.🕺💃,” she wrote.
She added that God has “filled our hearts with joy, our lips with testimonies, and our home with celebration.🎉 Indeed ‘you do this one'”.
Chinwo, however, did not reveal the name or gender of her child.
Fans and celebrities have taken to the comment section of the post to congratulate the couple.
Chinwo and Uzochikwa got engaged on June 23, 2022.
The couple held a lavish wedding ceremony the following month in the singer’s hometown in Port Harcourt.
Chinwo started her gospel music career after winning the second season of Nigerian Idol.
She has continued to receive massive reception from gospel music lovers since then.
The singer has also received several awards for her craft.
Uzochikwa, fondly called Pastor Blessed, is the senior pastor of the Water Brook Church.
He is known for his spiritual and inspirational messages.
