Remilekun Abdulkalid Safaru, Nigerian rapper better known as Reminisce, and Nancy Isime, media personality, have been announced as the hosts for the 2019 Headies Awards.

Organisers of the annual awards made the announcement for this year’s edition tagged ‘Power of A Dream,’ on its social media platforms.

“Officially announcing the Hosts of the 13thHeadies @nancyisimeofficial x @Iamreminisce !!!! Let’s do this !!! Bigger and Better,” it wrote.

Reminisce, also known by his stage name as Alagba Igbile, is a singer, rapper, and songwriter from Ogun state.

Isime, on the other hand, is an actress, model, media personality and obviously a force to reckon with in the country’s entertainment industry.

In 2009, she won the Miss Valentine International beauty pageant, and began a career as an actress in the TV series ‘Echoes’ in 2011.

She has since appeared in several films and is known for presenting the gossip show ‘The Squeeze’ and technology show ‘What’s Hot’.

In 2016, she replaced Toke Makinwa as the presenter of the popular show on HipTV.

The Headies (originally called the Hip Hop World Awards) is a music awards show established in 2006 by the Hip Hop World Magazine of Nigeria to recognize outstanding achievements in the country’s music industry.

The annual ceremony features performances by established and promising artists.

Several media personalities in the country have hosted the annual ceremony, including Darey Art Alade, D’banj, Dakore Egbuson, Banky W., Rita Dominic, M.I, Tiwa Savage and Dr SID.

This year’s edition of the annual awards is the 13th of its kind since it debuted in 2006. The journey to this year’s edition started with calls for entries announced on September 24, 2019.

Burna Boy, Teniola Apata, Rema and Falz were among those nominated for the awards which would on Saturday, October 19, 2019.
