MC Galaxy, Nigerian Afropop singer, has used Tonto Dikeh’s ‘40 seconds saga‘ to spice up his new collaborative single dubbed ‘Man Must Wack’.
The song, which features Harrysong and Duncan Mighty, also sees the ‘Sekem’ crooner commenting randomly on unfolding events in Nigeria’s socio-political space.
“Rema touch Dumebi deny pregnancy (pregnancy)
Atiku lose election dem blame poverty (poverty)
Make pepper soup for me e turn serious thing (serious thing)
Na em make I hate second hand
Ask industry Cha Cha came
40 seconds? Tonto you are harsh
I enter Church to Chill dem still dey tempt me
All I need is love You I need my baby oh
Touch me make e soft Touch me make,” MC Galaxy sang in one of his lines.
Other acts mentioned are Toke Makinwa, Linda Ikeji, Regina Daniels and Don Jazzy among others.
Speaking volumes, the song’s title is one that is deeply rooted in Nigeria’s socio-linguistic repertory and translates that one must survive irrespective of unfolding challenges or events.
This is contrary to the dictionary meaning of “wack” which reads as something inferior, fake or that which compromises in comparison to generally accepted standards.
‘Man Must Wack’, produced by Mastercraft, comes as MC Galaxy’s third single in the year 2019 — following the likes of ‘Aliona‘ and ‘Ogbona‘, although the singer has engaged other artistes in collaborative releases.
In April, the talented singer teamed up with a squad of international artists for a smashing track dubbed ‘Live Your Life’, a song which held profound messages of freedom; love; and unity.
