Collins Enebeli, better known as Mavin grandpa, was this week honoured at the Lagos State University (LASU) where he delivered a speech on the future of music business entrepreneurship in Nigeria.
The Mavin grandpa was awarded the merit award for excellence for his contribution to the growth of the music and entertainment industry in Nigeria.
He was a one-time executive of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN), an actor on several shows on the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), and presently, the president of Artistes Managers Association in Nigeria (AMAN).
Enebeli is the father of Mavin Records boss/ace producer, Don Jazzy.
The occasion was attended by students of the department was graced by Majek Fashek, D’Prince, Dija, Ayo Bankole, Baba Fryo, Stella Monye, among other music industry personalities.
There were performances by some of the school’s students and musicians such as Stella Monye and Majek Fashek in honour of the Mavin grandpa.
The event which is held once a year by the theatre arts & music department has played host to the likes of Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka, Yinka Davies, and Dede Mabiaku.
