Elsie Okpocha, the estranged wife of Basketmouth, has urged singles to marry a kind partner.
In an Instagram post on Friday, Elsie said people change and grow over time, and marriage can bring out different aspects of one’s personality.
She said it is important to marry a partner who is not only kind to you but also to your loved ones.
She added that even during conflicts, a kind partner will still look out for your well-being and show care and concern.
“You need to understand that people change, people grow and marriage will change you. Sometimes marriage would bring out that part of you that you never knew existed,” she said.
“But one thing that stands out for me is kindness. Whatever you do, make sure you marry a partner that is kind and it should not just end with you.
“Marry a partner that is kind to you, to your siblings, to your loved ones, to everyone, to everyone who means something to you.
“When you marry a person that is kind, when you fight, I mean quarrels, arguments, he or she still looks out for you.
“In all you do, while you are making your preparations or your plans, make sure it is with a kind person.”
Baskethmouth and Elsie tied the knot in 2010. They also share three children together.
On December 22, 2022, Basketmouth announced that he and Elsie are no longer together — ending their 12-year-old marriage.
