The announcement has put an end to speculations as to when the ‘Lollipop’ crooner would finally drop the long-awaited project.
The rapper had first teased the project in 2016 while featuring on ‘The Nine Club‘ podcast.
“Just make sure they know that ‘Funeral’ is coming soon. That’s my music. Get your roses ready. I don’t have a release date, but I have a whole bunch of good news coming soon,” he had said.
“If you’re a Wayne fan, I know we’ve been going through a lot of tough times right now, but if you are a Wayne fan, we about to hold our heads high soon.”
The project serves as the follow-up to his 2018’s ‘Tha Carter V’.
He had further left tongues wagging when he shared an emoji of a coffin on his Instagram story on April 30, 2019.
Lil Wayne had made headlines recently after declaring he would love to visit Nigeria following several interesting reports he had heard about the country.
