Lagos Comic Convention, popularly called Lagos Comic-Con, will return for its seventh edition.
The convention hosts the latest in comics, graphic novels, animation, gaming, films, books, virtual reality and creative arts, anime, manga, video games, and toys.
Ayodele Elegba, founder, Lagos Comic-Con, said the event will be the biggest gathering of comic and pop culture fans in Africa.
The event, themed ‘Aspire, Dream, Prosper’, will feature masterclasses and exhibitions from various creative fields.
Elegba said the event will serve as a platform for the exchange of ideas and business opportunities in a sector that is dominantly youthful and urban.
He said: “Being the seventh edition this year, we want to give every attendee an experience of a lifetime. The fun would be seven times bigger.
“At the end of the event all who attend will leave without a doubt they were in truly the biggest gathering of geeks and pop culture fans in Africa.”
Activities at the comic convention will include Nollycon (a film session), Comic-con (a session where comic artists will display their works), and a gaming area called Gamezone.
Other standout activities are Rendacon (an animation session), Bookicon and Kids Zone, where children will be taken through special workshops on illustration, animation and creative writing.
