Umoh Unyime, a Nigerian lady, is set to wed a man she met during the #EndSARS protest against police brutality in 2020.
The on-air-personality (OAP) broke the news in a post via her Facebook page on Friday.
In October last year, youths in different states had hit the streets to demand the proscription of the now-defunct special anti-robbery squad (SARS).
During the protest, some youths barricaded roads to drive home their course while others staged prayer sessions to seek divine intervention.
In the post, Unyime said she first met her fiance during the protest before they saw each other again at a session of #UyoPrayerWalk, a prayer movement in Akwa Ibom amid the campaign.
Although the lady did not reveal when she would tie the knot with her lover, she said the day is “drawing closer.”
“I’m usually not this nervous to make a post. But as it draws closer I realized that God’s word is to be shown to the world. It began with #Endsars, #UyoPrayerWalk and today it is #PY2021. I’m glad we prayed. #PY2021 #Anticipate,” she wrote.
Last year’s protest took a dramatic twist after men of the Nigerian army opened fire on some demonstrators at the Lekki toll gate axis of Lagos state.
