Kevin Hart, an American comedian and Hollywood actor, says he appreciates life better and now sees things differently after his auto crash.

The 40-year-old had suffered a ‘major back injury’ after his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda, an electric vehicle he had purchased to celebrate his birthday, veered off the highway in Malibu Hills, crashed through a wooden fence, and plunged down a gully.

Following news that he is recovering after being placed on therapy, Hart took to Instagram on Wednesday to publicly address his fans via an emotional video shared on his page.

The talented movie star also opened up on his ordeals, and expressed gratitude to those who have been of support.

“Basically, what you realize is that you’re’ not in control. No matter how much you think you’re’ in control, you’re not in control and at the end of the day it can all be over,” Hart said in the clip which captures moments of him in the care of medical experts while receiving repeated bouts of therapy sessions and walking with mobility aids.

“When God talks, you gotta listen. I swear life is funny. Because some of the craziest things that happen to you end up being the thing that you needed most. In this case, I honestly feel like God basically told me to sit down. When you’re moving to fast and you doing too much sometimes you can’t see the things you’re meant to see.

“But after my accident, I see things differently. I see life from a whole new perspective. My appreciation for life is through the roof. I’m thankful for my family, my friends. I’m thankful for the people that simply ride with me and have been with me ’cause you stood by me.

“My fans, thankful for all your love and support. Don’t take today for granted, ’cause tomorrow’s not promised. More importantly, I’m thankful for God, thankful for life. ” Hart ended the video by saying “looking forward to an amazing 2020.”

Following the accident, the police officers at the scene had stated that Hart left by himself to get medical attention while the crumpled vehicle trapped Rebecca Broxterman, a personal trainer to Hart and his wife, alongside Jared Black, Hart’s friend, who drove the vehicle.
