Singer Kingsley ‘Kcee’ Okonkwo may be joining the contenders for the Anambra governorship election.
The singer on Thursday shared a campaign banner on Instagram, declaring his intention.
The campaign slogan on the banner reads, “peace and enjoyment for all”.
Kcee said he will make a “big announcement” on his aspiration next Tuesday.
“It’s about time, Big Announcement on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 11am,” he wrote as a caption.
The ‘Limpopo’ singer is not the first entertainer to express interest in the forthcoming Anambra poll.
Yul Edochie, son of Nollywood veteran Pete Edochie, recently said he will contest the election.
Edochie, an actor, said he wants to save the youth from their suffering and fix the problems of the state, hence his decision.
“I don’t understand why my people are suffering. Governance should be about giving the people the best and anything short of this is a failed project,” Edochie had said on Wednesday.
“It breaks my heart and these people don’t care. People are suffering. I want to fix the problems of the people. I want to give them the good life they deserve.”
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) are yet to conduct primary elections to choose their respective flagbears.
