The hip hop mogul welcomed a set of twins with his wife Beyonce last week Monday.
The twins’ arrival was only made known last weekend.
The newborns, a boy and a girl, have remained in the hospital due to a “minor issue” as doctors were not yet comfortable with sending them home, according to TMZ.
Matthew Knowles, Beyonce’s father, on Sunday took to Instagram to confirm the birth of the twins.
“Happy birthday the twins, love, granddad,” he wrote.
Jay Z recently became the first hip hop artiste to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
The rapper missed the induction as a result of his newborns’ birth.
