In a recent interview with TMZ, David revealed that though it seemed unbelievable, staying off sex increased his creativity.

“I know to the date, It has been two years now for me [without sex]. But funnily, much as I was like ‘Wow!’ to myself for the moment, [my] creativity has been on a 100, on a max, for those two years,” he said.

The singer opened up about his celibacy journey last year in the Louis Theroux Podcast.

He said he wanted to focus on self-discovery and a deeper kind of love connection.

“Sometimes you gotta pull it back, man. I am 42 years old now — things are different. If we cannot deep dive, if I cannot have a conversation and at the same time laugh like crazy with you, and see the beauty from within you, then we are just gonna be doing the same game that I have been playing since day one. I do not want that anymore,” he had said.

David’s debut album ‘Born to Do It’ was released in 2000, after which he put out seven more albums and worked with a variety of artistes including Sting, Tinchy Stryder, Big Narstie, Kano, and Jay Sean.
