Folarin ‘Falz’ Falana and Olamide Adedeji will headline the 2018 edition of Hennessy Artistry as the cognac brand marks its 200th anniversary.
The anniversary celebration began on Tuesday at a media parley with Maurice and Roch Hennessy, descendants of Richard Hennessy, following their arrival in Nigeria.
“The artistry headliners for this year are Olamide and Falz,” said Wole Awoleke, Hennessy brand manager, at the Wheatbaker Hotel, Ikoyi, Lagos.
The headlining artistes will interact with Maurice and Roch during a meet and greet on Wednesday.
“Very popular musicians. I’m sure they will have a lot of fun just interacting with Maurice and Roch.
“Hennessy V.S.O.P’s 200th anniversary will be focused on celebrating the legacy and heritage of Maison Hennessy. A legacy that has been driven by excellence, passion and constant innovation.”
Roch, business development manager of the company, said Hennessy accounts for up to 49 percent of the world’s cognac sales.
“France is only 1% of the world’s consumption of Hennessey. Hennessy exports 99% of its productions abroad,” he said.
“Hennessy is 49% of the world’s cognac sales. We’ve been able to do that because we have an unbelievable stock of old eau de vie.”
Franklyn Ikemefuna, whose stage name is Vader, in 2017 won the fourth season of Hennessy Artistry VS Class, a competition for upcoming rappers.
