IBADAN EXPLOSION: NOLLYWOOD STARS RECOUNT EXPERIENCE
Aisha Lawal, the Nigerian actress, recounted her ordeal after narrowly escaping the recent explosion in Ibadan.
Last Tuesday’s explosion occurred at Adeyi Avenue in the Bodija area of Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.
Vibrations from the explosion were felt kilometres away from ground zero, with window panes and ceilings of some houses across the city getting shattered as a result.
Sharing her experience, the actress said she was in Bodija at the time of the explosion.
“Alhamdulilahi for today, l was at bodija when the explosion happened, infact my ears are still ringing from the effect, Thank God for our lives,” she wrote.
“I even parked to buy suya opposite that estate o. I now later moved my car from sloggers club to metro hotel on that same Osuntokun when all happened. Ọlọ́run àánú ó.
“Too many dead bodies, ehhhhh what exactly is going on ooo. Olohun sanu ooo.”

Seyi Makinde, governor of the state, earlier said the explosion, which injured 77 people, was caused by illegal miners who stored explosive devices in one of the buildings in Bodija.
TEMS: I WAS BULLIED WHILE GROWING UP BECAUSE OF MY VOICE
Tems, the Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, said she was bullied while growing up over the pitch of her voice.
She said she grew up feeling self-conscious because “my voice had bass” and did not sound like other girls with “sweet voices”.
The songstress was “bullied to the point of tears” and was a “target of ridicule”.
Tems said this led her to believe she “sounded like a boy or a frog, or that her voice was ugly”.
The 28-year-old singer said she would later “develop the faith” to sound like herself under the tutelage of her music teacher in secondary school.
“I was always in my own little world. I was not very social. When I did make friends, I would try to make them sing my songs,” she said.
“All the other girls had these sweet, high voices, and my voice had a bass.”
TIWA SAVAGE ROBBED IN LONDON
Last Wednesday, the songstress revealed that she was “robbed” in London, United Kingdom.
“Damn London, una show me pepper o. I got robbed yesterday,” she wrote on her page.
The music star, however, did not provide sufficient context to the robbery incident.
The post comes a few days after Savage’s petition to Fayoade Adegoke, the Lagos commissioner of police, alleging that Davido, her colleague, threatened to assault her.
HARRYSONG ADDRESSES RUMOUR OF MARITAL CRISIS
The Nigerian singer addressed rumours of a marital crisis with Alexer Perez Gopa, his wife.
Last Tuesday, a leaked WhatsApp chat purported to be between Harrysong and his wife showed the singer asking her to abort a pregnancy.
In the alleged chat, he said, “I will not be responsible for no more child from you”.
Another chat revealed the wife accusing the singer of having several side chicks, to which he admitted and claimed that they were better than her.
The viral conversation between the couple sparked several reactions on social media.
But on Thursday, Harrysong admitted to having marital struggles with his wife.
He also appealed to the public to respect his family’s privacy.
“After much reflection and discussion with my family, I have decided to put out this to my fans and well-wishers,” he wrote.
“While this is undoubtedly a challenging time for my family on the stories making round on social media of the marital problems my wife and I are having, I am appealing to members of the public to respect my family’s privacy this period and also to kindly request for your utmost understanding pls. Thanks for the love and support.”
AY MAKUN, WIFE STIR CONTROVERSY
The Nigerian comedian and Mabel, his wife, left tongues wagging on social media last week after the couple unfollowed each other on Instagram.
The development occurred at about the same time when Mabel cried out over an alleged threat to her life.
The entrepreneur claimed that someone was after her life. Although she did not mention names, Mabel said should anything happen to her, “there is one person to be held responsible”.
The mother of two also said she was heading to the police station to report the matter.
“The threat to my life is actually getting out of hand, and if anything happens to me, there is just one person to be held responsible. Headed to the police station,” she wrote.
In another post, the interior designer said she has been “abused mentally for way too long”.
“Been abused mentally and all round for way too long and I have had enough,” she added.
