Funke Akindele, popular Nollywood actress, is the latest brand ambassador for Dettol, Reckitt Benckiser’s antiseptic product, in Nigeria.
As a brand ambassador, the movie producer will join the company to raise awareness on hygiene and healthy living with a new campaign tagged ‘Clean Naija initiative’.
Akindele, who recently welcomed a set of twins, took to her Twitter handle to announce her endorsement deal with the British multinational company.
“As a new Mom and an advocate for healthy living, I am happy to announce that I just joined @DettolNigeria as a brand ambassador and will be supporting the newly launchedSpeaking at #CleanNaija,” Akindele wrote.

Speaking at the campaign launch, the Nollywood actress also explained that the initiative will provide her another opportunity to encourage more Nigerians to adopt hygiene habits.
“Immediately I was contacted to get involved, I jumped on it because of the significance of this. Being part of Clean Naija will also help me reach out to more people and touch their lives in actual ways. We are committed to educating all Nigerians on the best hygiene practices which will ultimately help to build healthier lives and happier homes,” she said.
Dayanand Sriram, general manager of Reckitt Benckiser West Africa, said the campaign is geared towards “creating awareness, education and driving behavioural change to achieve a cleaner and healthier Nigeria”.
