‘Shōgun‘, the American historical drama television series, was the biggest winner at the 76th annual Primetime Emmy Awards.
The 2024 Emmys was held at the Peacock Theater at LA Live in Downtown Los Angeles.
‘Shōgun’, the series which is mostly a Japanese cast and is based on the 1975 novel by James Clavell, already broke the record for most wins by a show in a single season.
But on Sunday night, the series secured 18 awards out of 25 nominations including ‘best drama’ and ‘best actress in a drama’ categories to further extend the record.
Following closely is ‘The Bear’. It also broke its record of 10 comedy wins for a single season, which it achieved last year, with 11 trophies.
